Flying Fox

Thousands of flying foxes nest in the trees of Hervey Bay and can be heard screeching to each other during the day. Whilst I was there in October 2014 at the start of a trip around Australia, I found myself drawn to these peculiar creatures and spent a while watching them roosting in the trees. Most of them were flapping their great wings to cool off but this one seemed to be lost in a deep snooze and just looked so satisfied.
